Megan is an RYT200 yoga teacher and is currently working on her 500hr certification. She began practicing yoga in the midst of a very difficult drug addiction and through a consistent and disciplined practice her life turned around. She now experienced how powerful this practice is and understood the impact this would have on others in the community. Her mission is to bring the ancient practice of yoga into the world of today. She wants to make the practice of yoga accessible to everyone, allowing students to feel healthy-- emotionally and physically--while finding peace in everyday life. Her classes focus on balance and self acceptance, allowing the student to embrace where they are in the moment. Through her story she encourages individuals to take the tools and experiences from her class off the mat and into their daily lives. She knows that if they put these tools into practice they will see changes and be able to then draw on their own experiences for continued growth.
Megan has also experienced how energy work can be used to keep her body in balance and ultimately in optimal health. In continuing to seek both healing and growth she recently was certified as a Reiki II practitioner. Reiki is an ancient Japanese relaxation technique that improves the flow of energy and prompts healing.
Keeping with her mission of bringing these practices to everyone she became a community partner of the You Can You Will Foundation. Through this new outlet she now shares her story and these tools with high school students, with hopes that they will gain coping mechanisms that she did not have at that age.
