Sara Kelly is a compassionate creative with over a decade of teaching (& learning) experience in settings ranging from juvenile correctional facilities to corporate headquarters, and many places in between. Often found in a classroom, kitchen, or adventuring with her daughters and husband in nature, Sara is fueled by challenging the status quo and empowering others.
Her journey consciously began in high school, as she admitted she had been “should-ing” herself into all sorts of boxes that didn’t seem to fit her true identity. Upon earning her B.A. and M.Ed from Ohio University in Special Education and teaching in a rural Appalachian high school, Sara returned to Cleveland to begin working with a local nonprofit, designing and facilitating curriculum on leadership development to diverse learners from elementary school through professionals. In 2018, Sara completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training, and leads yoga experiences as a way to spread her love for connection and empowerment. As most things in her life, teaching yoga brought Sara back to working with youth, by working with the nonprofit ZENworks yoga to bring yoga and mindfulness to students in Cleveland. She completed her 95-hour RCYT training in children’s, teen, and trauma-informed yoga in 2021. Whether teaching yoga, consulting for a non-profit, or parenting, her work always finds its way back to empowering others to embrace their unique potential. As a co-founder of the global courage movement, Scare Your Soul, Sara loves to invite others to take steps outside of their comfort zone in small ways which can lead to big change. She believes in the universal need for guidance toward one’s best self, and lives for the moments when a participant- no matter their background- shares insight into their increased self-confidence to live courageously in this wild world.
